First introduced by Omega in 1947, the Seamaster Collection is considered their most popular and well known collection to date. Although Omega had been producing water resistant timepieces since 1932, the Seamaster name was given after the 1947 launch. The early Seamaster models resembled dressy timepieces that were able to complete the basic function of telling time and occasionally displaying the date. During the 1970s, the Seamaster was redesigned with a sporty feel that was more suitable for divers, who needed rotating bezels, visible dials, chronograph features and the ability to reach further depths. The Seamaster Collection provides two very different models; the Seamaster Aqua Terra series, which resembles the trademark dress timepieces of the past and can reach depths of 150 meters and the Seamaster Professional series, which has the durable sporty look and can reach depths of 300 meters. Form meets function with this gentleman's Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz timepiece, reference 2264.50.00. A round stainless steel case with black enamel uni-directional bezel surrounds the black guilloche dial that houses the date display. A pair of silver and luminescent hands marks the quartz Omega 1538 caliber movement, which is shown through the painted luminescent stick indicators as markers. Finishing this watch is the original Omega stainless steel bracelet and stainless steel folding clasp. This watch is in very good condition with minor scuffing on the case, case back and bracelet.
