A beautiful silkscreen by the artist Richard Bernstein, American (1939 - 2002). This great pop art styled piece, which is entitled "Ruby," was created in 1978.

Born in New York in 1939, Richard Bernstein studied at Pratt Institute and Columbia University. He had the singular honor of doing the cover art for Andy Warhol's Interview magazine where he created an unmistakably identifiable style that was instantly recognizable as the "Bernstein Look." Few artists have fared well in both the aesthetic and commercial art scene but Richard Bernstein has managed to conquer both. As an oil painter and illustrator, he portrays simple shapes and forms with infinite beauty. As a "chronicler of his times," his portraits of Salvador Dali, Ryan O'Neal and Racquel Welch exemplify the 'pop' genre.
