Signed Mimmo Rotella Limited Edition Pepsi-Cola Serigraph
ExcellentThis is a fantastic example of the art work that transformed the country of Italy by Mimmo Rotella, Italian (1918 - 2006). Rotella is known for his collages of movie and advertisement posters. In this place, Rotella utilizes an advertisement for Pepsi-Cola. The 1979 serigraph is signed by Rotella in pencil, lower right and numbered in pencil, lower left.
Mimmo Rotella was born in Catanzaro on the 7th of October 1918, the son of a milliner. Following high school he moved to Naples where he began art studies (in 1941 he went to Rome after having obtained a post at the Ministry of Postal and Telecommunication Services). Already recognized by criticism at the close of the 1950's as being an exponent of the "Young Roman Painting, Rotella was labeled as the 'poster ripper' or the 'painter of glued paper'. At night, armed with a penknife, he not only ripped off posters but also pieces of the metal sheeting and zinc of the mounting frames of the billboard zones of the Rome City Council. He was a member of the influential French Nouveaux Realistes group. In 1999 the Mayor of his natal city, Sergio Abramo, signed a City Council order authorizing Rotella to freely remove posters in Catanzaro and its environs.
Nothing illustrates more vividly the hectic post-war art scene than the scintillating career of the Italian experimental artist Mimmo Rotella. -
Signed Framed Alex Katz Limited Edition The Swimmer Serigraph
ExcellentA wonderful framed serigraph entitled "The Swimmer" by the pop portraitist, Alex Katz. This serigraph is signed by the artist in pencil, lower right and numbered in pencil, left and features Alex Katz's famous portrait-pop style and was created in 1992.
Alex Katz is a leading figure painter of the new realism movement in contemporary art. He is best known for his realistic portraits of friends and family, notable for their relaxed attitudes and uncomplicated bearing. Katz was born in New York City, and studied art at the Cooper Union from 1945 to 1949. In the late 1950s, he found himself among a growing number of artists dissatisfied with the then-dominant stream of abstract expressionism, with its emphasis on formal abstraction. A summer resident of Lincolnville, Maine since 1954, he has developed a close relationship with local Colby College. The college presented him with an honorary doctorate in 1984. In October 1996, the Colby College Museum of Art opened a wing dedicated to Katz that features more than 400 oil paintings, collages, and prints donated by the artist.
The Swimmer is a charming piece that showcases the work of Alex Katz. -
Signed Limited Edition Robert Indiana Heliotherapy Love Serigraph
ExcellentRobert Indiana has become famous for his images of LOVE and this is what is known as heliotherapy love for the bright colors implemented in the piece. The print is signed in pencil, lower right and numbered in pencil, lower left by Indiana and the LOVE idea is perhaps the most known pop art image today.
Born Robert Clark in New Castle, Indiana, in 1928, he adopted the name of his native state as a pseudonymous surname early in his career. During his typically Midwestern boyhood, highway signs had a symbolic importance for him. His father worked for Phillips 66 gas and, when he left his wife and son, he did so down Route #66. And the diner which his mother subsequently operated had the familiar "EAT" sign looming overhead. Indiana's best known image is the word love in upper-case letters, arranged in a square with a tilted letter O. This image, first created for a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art in 1964, was included on an eight-cent United States Postal Service postage stamp in 1973, the first of their regular series of "love stamps." His Love Sculptures are all over the major cities of the United States and throughout the world.
This work by Robert Indiana of Love will bring one of the most iconic images of today's major cities and pop art movement into your home. -

The American dream has been a recurring theme in Indiana's work, and he has used it to both celebrate and criticize the national way of life. In the midst of all the gaudy, star-spangled color of The American Dream #J (1961, Museum of Modern Art), for instance, he highlights the words "Take All" and "Tilt" as reminders both of Americans' materialism and of the tendency of some to cheat, as they do on pinball machines. And the diner which his mother subsequently operated had the familiar "EAT" sign looming overhead. Signed Framed Arman Limited Editiom Blue And Orange Pizzicato Serigraph
ExcellentA signed framed limited edition serigraph by Arman, French (1929 - 2005) entitled "Blue and Orange Pizzicato," is signed by the artist in pencil, lower right and numbered in pencil, lower left. This is an exceptional piece that represents Arman's work with violins and abstract modernism.
The French Armand Pierre Fernandez, born in 1928, is one of the most important international object artists and a co-founder and member of the Nouveau Réalisme. He studied at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Nice from 1946 to 1949 and then continued his studies for two years at the Ecole du Louvre in Paris. An acquaintance with Yves Klein led to the idea of organizing joint happenings and events, which the two artists realized in 1953. Armand's neo-Dadaist 'Cachets' (stamp prints) of 1955, and later the 'Allures' (prints made with objects dipped into paint) and the 'Coupés' (cut-up objects) followed by the 'Colères' (objects which were smashed and then mounted) were still influenced by Kurt Schwitters. When the last letter of his name was accidentally forgotten on a catalogue cover in 1958, he decided to keep this spelling. The artist discovered his famous 'Poubelles', Plexiglas cases with rubbish cast in resin, at the beginning of the 1960s. From the 'Poubelles' Arman developed the so-called 'Accumulations', a number of the same objects assembled in show cases.
Together with Klein, Tinguely, Raysse and César, Arman is one of the most important artists of the Nouveau Réalisme. Since the 1950s he has been honored with numerous international exhibitions and has presented works twice at the documenta 3 and 6 in Kassel.
Arman is known for his work with cigars, violins, and paint brushes, this piece is an exemplary example of his work with violins. -

He has used the income from the sale of these "investigations," as he calls his prints, to establish a socio-cultural foundation in Aix-en-Provence, France, for the study of the integration of plastic beauty at all levels of the urban environment. Signed Arman Limited Edition Untitled 5 Violins 1978 Black & Red Serigraph
PristineSigned Limited Edition Arman 1978 serigraph entitled "Untitled 5 Violins" is signed by the artist in pencil, lower right and numbered 142 of 150 by the artist in pencil, lower left.
Credited for changing the look and feel of the art world throughout the twentieth century, Arman built a reputation for creating pieces that focused on breaking down an every day object and extracting the inherent beauty of each from within. Arman began training as an artist at an earl age, with lessons from his father in photography and oil painting and continued his formal training at both Ecole Nationale d'Art Decoratif in Nice and Ecole du Louvre in Paris, where he studied the style and techniques of the Old Masters.
Although Arman was taught in the formal methods of the great artists of the past, he explored his penchant for working in the abstract method. Experimenting with the abstract, Arman would often dip one of his every day objects into paint and place it directly onto the canvas multiple times in order for the viewer to discern the beauty of the juxtaposed object. Arman showcases his desire to transform his every day objects into beautiful works of art in his 1978 serigraph entitled "Untitled 5 Violins." Many of Arman's pieces consisted of musical instruments, as his father was a trained cellist. Using only black and red to bring the barrage of violins to life against the white background, Arman forces the viewer to look beyond the object to experience the simplistic beauty of each instrument.
