Having studied at l'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, it is no surprise the Charles Cobelle would enjoy success as one of the leading French artists during much of the twentieth century. The chic and sophisticated lifestyle associated with French culture was a subject commonly depicted by the artist, as he focused on capturing the magnificent light associated with Paris and the decadent architecture and styles that emerged from the European city.
