    Jaimendes was born on September 9, 1939 in Criciuma, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He studied at the São Leopoldo Boarding School. At a very young age, Jaimendes discovered that he loved drawing and began to receive all the prizes that were awarded in the categories of drawing and painting. He completed his college studies in Rio de Janeiro in graphic design in which he excelled. He succeeded in the field of graphic design at the various advertising firms where he worked in Rio and São Paulo. Jaimendes has had numerous exhibitions around the world and is a highly regarded Brazilian artist.

    Lowell Nesbitt was one of the most celebrated and noted artists for his floral works of art. An artist with a highly personal style, Nesbitt made realistic studies of many themes throughout his career. His most well known series, and perhaps his most beautiful and poetic, are the more than four hundred works he created using the flower as the theme. Since his first show in 1957, Nesbitt has had more than eighty, one man shows. His painting, drawings and prints are included in the collections of many prestigious museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art in New York, and the National Gallery of Fine Art in Washington, D.C. In 1980 the United States Postal Service issued four stamps based on Mr. Nesbitt's floral paintings. He also served as the official artist for the space flights of Apollo 9 and Apollo 13.

    Showcasing his penchant for depicting the human form, Levier renders three female figures as the focal point of his oil on canvas entitled, "Three Femmes." This painting depicts three females in various poses that require an intense study of the body's movement and the various angles that the body can produce. Levier evokes a seductive and sensual mood with the scantily clad women and the coy expressions they convey to the viewer, with their eyes and body language. Vibrant colors enhance the sensuous atmosphere of this piece as the figures stand out from the somber colored background.

    The artist infuses a barrage of vibrant and bold colors to depict the energetic movement within the table arrangement in the foreground. Portraying a stark yet bold red background was a departure for Levier, who commonly depicted a bright and vibrant background that often incorporated the French landscape. Weaving the rich and bold colors through out every facet of the painting infuses vigor and movement within the piece.
