Estate Signed Rene Magritte Les Valeurs Personnelles Lithograph
PristineLithograph after (d’apres) Magritte, facsimile signed with Magritte Estate watermark, authorized by ADAGP, France. Printed on pure chiffon, Velin de Rives, 300 gr/square meter. This image was recreated by a master engraver and required over eighteen passes through a flat-bed lithographic press to be completed. Each print is signed in the plate, stamped with the seal of the Magritte Estate and signed by the publisher on the verso. This is part of an edition of 300. Le valeurs personelles or ‘personal effects’ was painted in 1952 and hangs at Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, Califormia. What one sees on an object is another hidden object. This painting is strangely put together as a riddle or charade through which Magritte wants to reveal a mystery, that of inspiration invading the artist himself, seeking to awaken the spectator’s imagination and unexpected ideas.

Pablo Picasso Portrait of Jacqueline Lithograph
Pristine#104 in Christophe Czwiklitzer-Les Affiches de Picasso.1956. Original lithograph in color, avant la lettre (before letters), printed by Mourlot in Paris and published for Palais de la Biennale in Menton, France. There is no number on this print. This is an overrun purchased directly from the printer. Extra copies are printed before and after above the number of prints made for the edition which are eventually signed and numbered by the artist. The prepress copies are made until the register and color meets the artists approval. The artist then will sign one copy as the BAT and usually initial it. BAT stands for 'bon a tirer' translated as OK to print. The extra copies remain property of the printer. These are quite rare and hard-to-find.
