Signed Lucio Ranucci Windows Oil on Canvas Painting
ExcellentSigned dated Lucio Ranucci oil painting on canvas entitled "Windows" is signed and dated by the artist, lower left.
Having studied people in various walks of life and in different atmospheres and occupations, Ranucci is famous for capturing the spirit and mood of the individuals and groups of people he depicted. Relying on geometric forms and shapes to create each of his figures, Ranucci gives them a larger than life feeling and creates an emphasis more on the physical attributes rather than individual features.
This 1970 oil on canvas painting entitled, Windows, showcases the artists fascination with the human form within various spaces and locations. Ranucci's figures often convey a feeling of melancholy, which is enhanced by the large and wide eyes accompanied by dark eyebrows. By using black to outline all of the figures and objects within this painting, Ranucci creates a scene similar to a stained glass window, in which all of the color fields are separated from one another. Showcasing his penchant for depicting the female figure within his paintings, Ranucci created an enigmatic female figure that decorates the background and enhances the ominous feel of this piece.-
