The poster was designed by Mourlot, using as subject the lithograph entitled Dove of Peace which was designed by Picasso to advertise the First Congress of the Peace Movement in 1949.

The poster was designed by Mourlot from the Picasso piece entitled Le Visage de la Paix published in 1951. Offset lithography in black with one pass of red in lithography. This piece is in excellent condition with minor wear due to light handling.

Original lithograph in color, avant la lettre (before letters), printed by Mourlot in Paris and published for Palais de la Biennale in Menton, France. There is no number on this print. This is an overrun purchased directly from the printer. Extra copies are printed before and after above the number of prints made for the edition which are eventually signed and numbered by the artist. The prepress copies are made until the register and color meets the artists approval. The artist then will sign one copy as the BAT and usually initial it. BAT stands for 'bon a tirer' translated as OK to print. The extra copies remain property of the printer. These are quite rare and hard-to-find.
